Who We Are

The Moffat Community Kitchen is an organization devoted to providing delicious and nutritious meals to the Craig-Moffat area, and providing a supportive community to our clients. We are ran by a team of dedicated volunteers and staff who care deeply for their community and share a common mission.

Our Mission

To serve and nurture our community while reducing hunger, one meal at a time.

Our story starts nearly two decades ago in the year 2008. Then-pastor of St. Michael’s Church, Father Randy, told the parish about a problem. The hospital was finding itself every day with excess food that was being thrown away. A group within the parish decided to take this problem and turn it into an opportunity. They began setting out to distribute this food into the community. They didn’t realize at the time but this was the beginning of a journey now two decades in the making.

Our History

This group became known as St. Michael’s Community Kitchen, and began to grow and evolve to meet the needs of the community. Soon the Community Kitchen was developed into a large program serving hundreds of meals a week to the people of Craig and Moffat County. Now known as Moffat Community Kitchen, we strive to honor our legacy and continue fighting food insecurity as we work towards a new home and a bright future.
